In 2009, Yuan Quan joined Dx assays as a Scientist. He has led several projects such as troubleshooting pre-analytical instrument and proficiency testing for pathogens on Real Time instruments (ABI, LightCycler and Rotor-Gene). Currently, his team is developing pre-analytical protocols for HPV test. He also takes on the role of equipment process owner to ensure that the laboratory equipment is qualified under internal requirements.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Fudan University, China in 2000. After which, he served in Shanghai HealthDigit Ltd to develop the ELISA kits for 2 years. Yuan Quan obtained his PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2008. His PhD research focused on the virus-host interaction, replication mechanism and pathogenesis of coronavirus by using reverse genetics system. He then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the National University of Singapore and studied host-pathogen interaction in infection and immunity.
His hobbies include photography and watching movies.
