Contamination Control
Nucleic acid contamination inflicts severe consequences to the productivity, cost and quality during assay development and verification.
We employs a two-prong approach to minimize the risk of contamination:
-
Engineering control:
- Our facility uses a 3-room concept, a nucleic acid free room that is positively pressurized for the set up of PCR master mix, 2 separate negatively pressurized rooms for addition of templates and PCR amplification and detection.
- High risk rooms like PCR amplification rooms are equipped with UV lamps and irradiated daily to cross-linked potential nucleic acid contaminants.
- All rooms have modular airflows.
-
Procedural control:
A standard operating procedure (SOP) detailing an unidirectional workflow from master mix to detection for personnel, consumables and personal protection equipment, is implemented and adhered to strictly by our employees.

With these measures in place, We have to date ZERO contamination events, hence consistently providing quality data to our clients!
